Welcome to Clueless Cooking!

Does boiling water freak you out? Same here... at least it did back in the day. But then I had this boyfriend who could whip up amazing dishes like it was no big deal (shoutout to his mom for teaching him). I used to just watch, sip my wine, and maybe wash a dish or two. Eventually, I thought: “If he can do it, why can’t I?"

So, I started with garlic. Yep, garlic. I might still be using it wrong, but who cares? It makes everything taste awesome!

One of my friends once told me that chefs follow recipes to a T, but cooks? They just go with the flow. That’s me! And that’s exactly what I’m going to show you in CluelessCooking 101. We’ll kick off with super simple recipes, and then you can add your own flair until it tastes just the way you like it. Trust me, your food’s gonna be so good, you’ll actually want to invite people over to share it. Yum!

Let’s be real, eating at home is a total money saver, but it’s more than that. If you’ve ever seen *Food, Inc.*, you know that corporate America has made consistency king—but that’s not how real life works, especially with food. Different ingredients, seasons, and even weather can totally change the flavors. Just ask any farmer.

Back to cooking at home…

Wouldn’t it be cool to know exactly what’s in your food? When you cook it yourself, you’re the boss. No weird chemicals, no unnecessary additives, just good stuff. And here’s a bonus: by the time you’d wait in a drive-thru line or for delivery, you could’ve already made something delicious and filled your kitchen with mouth-watering smells. You got this! It’s all about baby steps.

This is *your* cooking journey. We’ll start with the basics, including the must-have tools that won’t break the bank. I’m all about thrifting, Dollar Tree finds, and Walmart steals. We’ll also stock up on some pantry essentials that last forever, so you’re always ready to cook.

As you get more confident (or find some extra freezer space), you can start experimenting with the fancier stuff. From here on out, you and Zed are kitchen besties, and soon enough, you’ll be impressing your friends and fam with your new kitchen swagger!

Here’s to tasty cooking, oh Clueless One…
